The MAPS Peer Mentor Program provides for each student caring mentors, academic support services, career counseling, role models, and a series of workshops that focus on enhancing or developing strategies for success.
In addition, there are the responsibilities and expectations of the Student Mentees:
1. To contact the MAPS mentor to make him/her aware of any obstacles which might hinder academic success.
2. To contact a MAPS Coordinator before withdrawing from any class or classes.
3. to meet with a tutor when a professor or Mentor recommends tutoring.
4. To attend meetings and activities scheduled appointments with the Mentor.
5. To permit the MAPS Coordinator to monitor your academic performance.
6. To be prompt and keep scheduled appointments with the Mentor.
7. to participate in program evaluations and follow-up as requested by the Mentor or the Coordinator.
8. I understand that I may request to be assigned a different mentor if my current Mentor and I can not work effectively together.
9. Use the MAPS space respectfully and responsibly.
I have read the above agreement and understand my obligations as a MAPS mentee.
