International Student Credit Program Application Checklist
Application Deadlines for the 2026–2027 Academic Year
New Students
- July 16 for the Fall 2026 semester
- December 1 for the Spring 2027 semester
Transfer Students
- August 3 for the Fall 2026 semester
- January 4 for the Spring 2027 semester
Required Documents
- Completed Application Form
- Copy of Passport (bio page)
- Official English Proficiency documentation
- Official Bank Letter & F1 International Student Financial Affidavit Form
- Official High School or College/University Transcript (only if under 18)
- Additional documents for transfer applicants
If You Are Under 18
- Copy of high school diploma in English
- International Student Parent/Guardian Form
Transfer Applicant Requirements
- Copy of F-1 Visa or Change of Status Approval Letter
- Copy of I-94 record
- Copies of all previous I-20 forms
- International Student Transfer-In Form
Bank Letter and Financial Affidavit
- Must be signed and stamped by a bank official
- Bank letter/statement dated within 60 days
- Must show at least $33,170 USD or equivalent currency
- Must be in English or officially translated
$50 Application Fee
Application fees are non-refundable. Payment instructions will be provided by email after your application has been reviewed.
Important Information
- Health Insurance: F-1 students must purchase health insurance prior to each semester.
- Attendance: Students must enroll full-time and complete at least 12 units per semester.
- Employment: On-campus work is limited to 20 hours per week. Off-campus work requires DSO permission.
- Tuberculosis Test: Clearance is required. Instructions are provided in the acceptance letter.
- Housing: College of Marin does not provide student housing.

- TOEFL iBT: 61 or 500 (paper test)
- IELTS: 6.0
- Pearson: 45
- EIKEN: Level 2 (2150+)
- Duolingo: 90+
Holistic Assessment with Support
Students with lower scores may be admitted but must enroll in English as a Second Language support classes.
- TOEFL iBT: 42 or 450 (paper test)
- IELTS: 5.0
- Pearson: 42
- EIKEN: Level 1 (1728+)
- Duolingo: 75+
Holistic Assessment
Admission may consider standardized test scores, institutional assessments, academic experience, and individual student characteristics that demonstrate the ability to succeed in English.
Admission is conditional subject to holistic assessment per College of Marin Administrative Procedure 5012.
